This year we will be fundraising for the Emergency Department!
Children’s Health is the Regional Tertiary Referral Center for North Texas. It also is the pediatric trauma center for the region and the first facility in the Southwest accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Pediatric Level I Trauma Center.
Emergency Department nurses perform everything from arrival and triage to medical care and discharge. Our team of emergency pediatric doctors and nurses are trained to quickly diagnose and treat children while making the experience as stress-free as possible for families. The Emergency Department preserves the continuity of care with a child’s primary care physician.
Each year, nurses also care for more than 40,000 non-emergency patients with illnesses like colds and influenza in the First Care clinic, freeing up the Emergency Department for more serious cases.
