The Children’s Red Balloon Run & Ride will consist of these participation options:
- 1k fun run/walk
- 5k run/walk
- 10k run/walk
- 100k ride - must be at least 12 years old
- 80K ride - must be at least 12 years old
- 30k ride - must be at least 12 years old
- 5k ride
Run Event
The start and finish of each segment will take place on the northwest side of the Children’s Medical Center Legacy campus under Start/Finish structure.
The 5k course and 1k fun run course are designed in and around the Children’s Medical Center Legacy campus in Plano.
Courses will be completely barricaded off and traffic free with support from the Plano Police Department providing the opportunity for a safe and unforgettable experience for runners and walkers and a fun viewing experience for family, friends and co-workers.
The 10k course will start and finish at the northwest side of the Children’s Medical Center Legacy campus under Start/Finish structure. Traffic will be controlled at intersections. Rest Stops will be provided along the course.
Ride Event
The start of the ride will take place on the northeast side of the Children’s Medical Center Legacy campus at the Start structure and travel east to cross Preston and continue north throughout Collin County. The ride will finish back on the Children’s Medical Center Legacy campus.
The 5k kids ride will use the same course as the run/walk starting @ 9 am.
Rest Stops will be approximately 10 - 15 miles apart; major intersections will be traffic controlled. Riders must obey all traffic laws unless otherwise instructed by Police.
Helmets MUST BE WORN at all times.
Earbuds are NOT allowed on any course.
Participants must be at least 12 years old with parent accompaniment participate in the 30k, 80k and 100k routes.
Fundraising for Children’s
The Children’s Red Balloon Run & Ride is a fundraising program produced by Passion for Children’s for the exclusive benefit of Children’s Medical Center. Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum $100 as part of participation in this event.
Children’s needs your support in order to continue to care for kids in their greatest time of need. 100% of the money you raise goes directly to Children’s. You can have a direct impact and be the difference!
Packet Pick-Up
Participants registered before noon on Monday, April 14 have the option to have their packet mailed to their address on file. ($5 fee)
All Registrations after noon on Monday, April 14 can pick up their packet on Thursday Oct. 10.

Online registration closes on April 24, 12:00 NOON. You may register at packet pick up or on race day. A $5.00 Late Registration fee will apply.
Registration will be available on site on race day beginning at 6:30 a.m. There is $5 fee for same day registration.
